Koenigsegg Agera RS Destroys The Bugatti Chiron's 0-249-0 Mph Record!

Koenigsegg Agera RS Destroys The Bugatti Chiron's 0-249-0 Mph Record!

What huge rounds of applause had we heard when they reported the much celebrated hypercar- the Bugatti Chiron to have set a new speed record of accomplishing the 0-249-0 mph run in just 42 seconds! With no second thought we did declare it the ‘World’s Best Hypercar’ and went head-over-heels about it. Heck, many of us were eager to know how the video was filmed too and the answer was obviously a second Chiron which was used as camera car. Anyway, ladies and gentlemen, get your party poppers ready, because we have the Koenigsegg Agera RS here, that has just torn this record of the celebrated French hypercar into a million pieces.

Koenigsegg Agera RS

With Koenigsegg’s factory driver, Niklas Lilja in charge of the cockpit, this Koenigsegg Agera RS accelerated from 0-249 mph and back to 0 in just 36.44 seconds, thus putting an unpleasant end to the overwhelming pride of the Chiron fanboys. Ouch!

The breathtaking action took place at the Vandel Airfield in Denmark, using up a distance of 2441 meters in total. The 249 mph figures were achieved in 26.88 seconds and over a stretch of 1958 meters. The 249-0 mph fall was done in over 483 meters, in 9.56 seconds.
There are more reasons to celebrate, because the car used for this run is all set to be delivered to its customer in the US soon. The lucky guy seems to be all excited about this plan, as he hopes this would turn out to be an occasion to reveal the true colors of the car and the upper hand that it has over its rivals in performance. After all, he’ll be driving around in the same car which beat the Chiron to pulp on the World Record board.
Featuring the brand’s 1MW engine upgrade, that gives it some seriously stupendous power and torque figures of 1,360 hp and 1,371 Nm respectively, this car also comes equipped with an optional and removable roll cage, that makes it an extreme track machine as well.

Koenigsegg Agera RS speeding to 400km/h

Christian Von Koenigsegg, the founder and CEO of the celebrated Swedish high-performance hypercar manufacturer was quite vocal about on the company’s magnificent achievement.

"It makes me so proud, so happy and excited to see what we have achieved as a team with the Agera RS. A result like this does not just happen. It may have only taken a few hours of driving to complete this run, but we cannot overlook all of the work that went into creating the car in the first place. Building these cars takes everything we have. We give it our all, every day of every week. Without this commitment to excellence, we would not be worthy of either the result or the reward."
