Safety & Security
Automobile Safety includes design, construction, equipment and regulation to minimize the occurrence and consequences of traffic collisions. Road traffic safety more broadly includes roadway design. The essential safety features include: Electronic Stability Control (ESC) to help maintain control of the car when avoiding hazards, airbags for head protection, Auto Emergency Braking (AEB) to avoid or reduce the severity of rear end crashes, Antilock Braking System (ABS) which prevents wheel lock up. Traction Control systems optimize grip and stability of the car on the road during acceleration by measuring wheel rotation, head restraints prevent head whiplash.
Automobile Security refers to security systems implemented to avoid or minimize automobile or accessory theft. These systems include: car alarms to alert nearby individuals or authorities, steering wheel lock, Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), immobilizer that disables the car and sometimes lock the intruders inside. Trackers allow the car to be tracked and disabled when stolen. With advancement in technology, the security systems are also getting improved.
